Choosing photographs for funeral stationery

Which photos print well, and how to gather them from family quickly.

Family sorting through old photographs on a kitchen table

The main photograph

Choose a photo where their face is clear and well lit. It doesn’t need to be formal, and a natural smile often means the most. Photos straight from a phone camera are usually large enough to print beautifully.

Photos sent by WhatsApp

WhatsApp and some messaging apps shrink photos. If you can, ask for the original from the person’s camera roll. We’ll warn you if a photo may look soft in print, so there are no surprises.

Old printed photographs

Scan old prints or photograph them flat in good daylight, without flash. Fill the frame with the photo and hold the phone straight above it.

When you’re ready, we’ll guide you through it.
